A NEW SUPER COLLIDER IN SWITZERLAND HAS BEEN SABOTAGED. The after effects of this attack have disrupted linear time / space at the quantum level. 

All around the globe, fractures in time have manifested as time bubbles, where the Earth of the past has erupted into the present. Most of these manifestations are barely centimetres apart, occurring in isolated places. But a few fractures are kilometres wide. Whole towns and suburbs disappearing, replaced by meadows and forests from a few hundred years past or sometimes the towns as they were, centuries before.

Global leaders have joined together and declared these fractured areas as MANIFEST ZONES, off limits to the general public and guarded by NATO forces. People long dead now exist in these zones, confused and fearful. Their relatives and descendants from the present time are desperate to visit them. But the people in these zones have been officially designated by the governments of the world as TEMPORAL REFUGEES.

DR ELLA BRAND, an Australian quantum theorist, is recruited to find a way to repair the damage, Ella is joined by ROY TATE, a British military scientist and anthropologist YUGI HOSHIDO. They are informally designated TEAM Q. During their first official meeting, they receive news that another temporal fracture has manifest in Italy. 

This time the fracture’s origin reaches back almost two thousand years. As global military and intelligence agencies arrive in Rome, Team Q are greeted by the Italian Prime Minister who escorts TEAM Q to an undisclosed warehouse. Waiting for them is an entire legion of Roman soldiers and their commander...Gaius Julius Caesar.

The present day world is now face to face with the power and political force of Ancient Rome. As the authorities across the globe work with TEAM Q to solve the origin of these manifest zones, public support grows on social media for the plight of "time refugees".

The European Union comes under threat as a season of instability is ushered in by New Rome and the inauguration of their new President, Julius Caesar.

For Europe and the world, tyranny is once again the order of the day.
